iNAPPMeeting

18th January 2012

Iziz (Praises) Beloved Elders, Brothers and Sisters,

Re: National (People's) Assembly

The National Afrikan Peoples Parliament (NAPP) is an idea borne out of the commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the National 'Black People's Day of Action' on March 2, 2011; marking the most powerful event in the history of 'Black Britain,' when over 25,000 people protested the New Cross Fire Massacre (18th January 1981); a suspected racist fire-bomb attack, killing African youths.

But it was felt that we failed to capitalised on this momentous event, by way of organising and building institutions for self empowerment and self determination and therefore continue to suffer the social injustices and maladies stated above (especially our youths). The NAPP was thus proposed as a practical step toward tackling these issues on a national basis.

The NAPP is a nationwide, independent, representative body who purpose is to promote, preserve and protect the best interest of Afrikan (Black) people in the UK, by forging unity among community groups, organisations and individuals across social, ideological and religious lines; aimed toward people empowerment, institution (capacity) building and implementing solutions to the problems affecting us.
